About Grey’s Travels

So you want to know more about Grey’s Travels?

Initially only a place to document my travels but Grey’s Travels quickly grew into something more than just a personal blog. Soon Grey’s Travels attracted more followers and opportunities and it was time that it become more.

Grey’s Travel officially started on the 3rd of October, 2016. I had been home since February after two and a half weeks in Ireland (read more here) and I was ready for yet another trip.

About Me

My journey on earth started in 1994, having been born in Bloemfontein, South Africa. At the age of 4 we moved to Gaborone, Botswana, where some of my greatest adventures would start. My family have always been adventurous and that has contributed to my ever-burning wanderlust.

About My Passion

My greatest passion, my driving force, is travel.

Travel is my greatest passion.

Jumping on a plane and going to new places isn’t what travel is all about. Travel enriches the soul, broadens your comfort zones, encourages personal growth and allows you to learn. To most people, travel is the 2 week holiday you take at the end of the year but that is not what I want. Leaving your old life behind and starting fresh in a new place with new people, new food and new experiences and then moving on to the next place; that is what travel is to me.

Long term travel is the dream and sharing my stories, tips and tricks with fellow travelers is the goal. Together we will see the world, one post at a time.

What Is My Why?

I am a strong believer that in order to know your how, you must first know your why. Why continue with Grey’s Travels? Why put in the time, energy and money?

Grey’s Travels is all about affordable travel without skipping out on the experiences. I have an insatiable curiosity and a need to see the world and I want to experience all there is to experience.

I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to travel and I would like to share my travels with the world, so that everyone knows it can be affordable to live a exciting life!
