So I bought a drone!

Investment or Impulsive Buy

I have been wanting to buy a drone for a long time but I was never sure about which one to buy. The DJI Mavic Pro was my first choice for a long time until the DJI Spark was released earlier this year. It was about half the price but has some limitations when compared to the Mavic Pro.

The Spark is smaller than the Mavic Pro and has a few features that are quite interesting to use, such as the gesture control.

I finally bought the Spark in June. I received it a month later and then the accessories arrived a month after that.

I have so much to learn about flying the drone and how to use it to take great photos. Here are a few of the photos I have taken so far. These were taken with minimal effort and I did not plan anything at all.

I have yet to establish whether the drone is an investment because I have not been using it to its full potential.

Hopefully I will be incorporating more drone photos into my posts. We’ll have to wait and see how the photos do in the long run.

Do you have any tips for taking amazing drone photos? Please leave a comment and let me know! I am always keen on improvement.

Thanks for reading and remember to subscribe. I am busy working on my Cape Town posts. Finally found the photos I had taken during my short visit.

  1. I recently splurged and bought a DJI Spark and have used it a few times on holiday in Vietnam and Spain. So far I do not regret buying the drone, thanks to its size I can take it pretty much anywhere. It’s also surprising how stable it is in windier conditions and it takes great photos. Hope you will enjoy using yours just as much…

    1. I still need to take mine out for a serious photo session. Looking forward to start using more drone photos. Thanks for reading.

  2. I’ve been thinking about a drone, so it’s great to be able to follow you as you learn to use yours!

    1. My best advice would be to check the laws in the various countries. They can be super strict in some and rather relaxed in others. The drone still is a big part of the videos I make and some of the photos I take.
